This book is the first comprehensive grammar of Kalasha, an endangered language spoken by the Kalash of the Himalayas (about 3400 people), in the Chitral valleys, Bumburet, Rumbur and Birir, Northwestern Pakistan. Based entirely on fieldwork research and a special methodology of the documentation of the language, the book describes thoroughly the sounds and orthography, as well as the morphology and syntax of the Kalasha language. Particular attention is given to the inflection of all parts of speech (articles, nouns, adjectives, pronouns, verbs, adverbs, etc.). Due to the abundance of data analyzed on each grammatical phenomenon, and further translated into English, Kalasha Grammar can be used both as a reference and a pedagogical book by language documentation researchers and scholars, as well as English-speaking teachers of the Kalasha language.
